"Freedom is not free"

It's an overworked catch-phrase, but one that is so true. Over forty million Americans have answered the call to arms to protect and defend freedom and our way of life. All of them have made sacrifices - some have sacrificed all.

The Veterans Recognition Foundation was formed as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization chartered to bring honor and recognition to our military veterans.

The Foundation designed and built Veterans Plaza, a two acre tract of Teague Park in Longview, Texas, which is dedicated to recognize the service and sacrifices of the men and women who have served our country throughout history. The Plaza honors ALL veterans from All wars and ALL branches of our military. It is home to one of very few exact replicas of the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington, DC. Not everyone can visit the monuments in Washington, D.C. - The plaza is a piece of our National heritage located in Longview, Texas.

The Veterans Recognition Foundation helps organize and present special activities on patriotic holidays such as Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Veterans Day.

Members of the Foundation conduct special guided trips for youth groups and school children through Veterans Plaza helping to educate them on the value and cost of freedom.

Special slide-show presentations which spotlight the beauty of Veterans Plaza and share the history of the sacrifices made by our veterans are made for civic groups and retirement homes.
